The front entrance and the bathroom are enhanced and protected by tile floors, while the loft floor is softened by carpet. Thick pine lumber was crafted for the stairway to the loft. Professionally hand-made wormy chestnut cabinets adorn the kitchen and the eat-in bar, bathroom vanity, bath mirror, and medicine cabinet door. The same professional skills created a large cedar cabinet in the bathroom and a large wormy chestnut entertainment center in the master bedroom. The loft also has a custom built-in entertainment center with large storage cabinets on both ends.  Large closet under staircase is lined with local cedar tongue and groove with locked gun cabinet.  The outside of the cabin has neat stacked stone covering on the foundation walls and the exterior chimney. As you approach the cabin, you are greeted by low landscaping against the large covered front porch. A large covered back porch gives you that chance to sit in the dry and the breeze as you enjoy your tea or coffee while listening to the chirping of the birds or looking for the scamper of a squirrel or the glimpse of a wary deer in the surrounding woodland.

Small-mouth bass, large-mouth bass, crappie, catfish, sunfish, hybrid striped bass, and muskie are all common species of fish found in the New River and Bluestone Lake.

Bluestone Lake is over 2000 acres at summer pool and is the state’s third largest body of water.   Bluestone Retreat adjoins great hunting and fishing opportunities abound at the 17,632 acre Bluestone Wildlife Area adjacent to the park and nearby Camp Creek State Forest.
